ABOUT

The Polkadot Hackathon Global Series is back – bigger and better than ever, in Europe.

This virtual three-week program continues on from the huge success of October 2021’s
Polkadot APAC Hackathon and June 2022’s Polkadot North America Hackathon, bringing together a diverse community of like-minded blockchain developers ready to build and collaborate.

Although the event is focused on Europe, it is open to everyone, everywhere. The program is designed to create the perfect environment to make and build new blockchains, learn from your fellow attendees, and hack to your heart’s content!

This time, we have a networking event – dotSocial, at the end of the hackathon in Paris! The finalists of Polkadot Hackathon Global Series: Europe Edition will be flown to Paris to attend and present their projects on stage. This is the perfect opportunity to network with a global community of developers to make lasting connections in person, and be in with a chance to win from a massive prize pool.

(More details on dotSocial will be updated soon!)

Whether you’re an experienced blockchain or non-blockchain developer, want to learn more about building on/for Polkadot, or are entirely new to the Web3 space, we welcome you!

You can enter the hackathon as long as you are above 18 years old and a citizen of the eligible countries.

Yes! We want anyone with ideas or the passion to innovate to participate. Teams will however need at least one individual who can build/code a prototype as a code artefact is required for project submission.

Each team can have a minimum of 1 member, to a maximum of 4 members.

Teams are recommended to be formed within your own locations & time zones to avoid time zone fatigue but this is not mandatory. You can choose to join a team location in another time zone as well.

There are several ways that you can form your hack teams. Find out more from our Team Formation section in the Participants’ Guide after you sign up.

Yes! Only registered individuals are eligible to participate and collect the prizes. Please ensure that all members of your team have registered their teams accordingly as well.

While we hope you’ll be able to build on Substrate, we welcome everyone to build based on whatever knowledge, skills and expertise you have. One of the objectives of the hackathon is for you to learn and understand about the Polkadot ecosystem, so we welcome anyone to join us!
